Avalon Station Volunteers
Recently Congressman Alan Lowenthal graciously acknowledged our station’s volunteers for the many hours they donate and the hard work they perform throughout the year. Our volunteers are more dedicated and care more about their community than perhaps any other group of station volunteers. They give up their own time to do things to not only strengthen the relationship, between the Sheriff’s Station and the community, but they assist us with ensuring every major island event is safe and fun for all.
After our volunteers received Certificates of Appreciation from Congressman Lowenthal’s Office, Station Volunteer Scott Schmeckpeper received the Sheriff’s Department’s Star Scroll Award for the services he not only provides to his parishioners, our youth and Sheriff’s Department personnel, but to those who have fallen on hard times and need assistance. Scott is a true humanitarian and exemplifies the kind of people who make Avalon the amazing community that it is.
If you are interested in becoming a station volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Deputy Doug DeCesare, at Avalon Station.
