Fundraiser to mark ‘A Groovy View Since ’72’
The Catalina Island Conservancy is hosting its Annual Conservancy Ball on Saturday, April 23 in the Avalon Casino Ballroom. The 2022 Catalina Island Conservancy Ball – A Groovy View Since ’72 – is the Conservancy’s chance to welcome celebrants back in person after last year’s virtual experience and kick off the 50th anniversary of the founding of the non-profit Catalina Island Conservancy.
This year’s event will mark half a century of the Conservancy’s essential conservation, education and recreation programs. As the theme suggests, the evening promises to be a smashing good time filled with familiar faces, music and fun. In groovy black-tie attire, guests will enjoy dinner, big band sounds of Society Beat, and the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind items and experiences that support the preservation of Catalina Island. The popular silent auction will be held online prior to the Ball, with bidding beginning on April 9 and closing on April 22.
“We are excited to share and celebrate 50 years of caring for the Island with our incredible supporters,” said Catalina Island Conservancy President and CEO Tony Budrovich. “As we reflect on the successes of the past, we also look to the future and the Conservancy’s stewardship to sustain vital conservation, education and recreation programs on Catalina Island.”
Over the past 25 years, the Conservancy Ball has helped to raise a net of nearly $8 million dollars which all directly supports the Conservancy’s conservation, education and recreation programs. Like many other non-profit organizations, the Conservancy relies on your engagement. Supporting the Conservancy through Ball attendance and sponsorship helps keep Catalina Island wild, beautiful and accessible for nature lovers far into the future.
In a written statement, the Conservancy extended its thanks to their individual sponsors and corporate partners including Presenting Partner Capital Group Private Client Services and Shaun and Katy Tucker and Sponsor Reception Partner Edison International. We are grateful to our other Corporate Partners including Connolly-Pacific Co.; California Swimrun; and Rodriguez, Horii, Choi & Cafferata LLP.
