Sheriff’s Log: March 5-March 11

The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of March 5 to March 11.
“It is important to note that no assumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the content of the information provided in this report,” said Capt. Doug Fetteroll, commander of the station.  
“Many people who get arrested do not get convicted or even charged with crimes for which they have been arrested,” Fetteroll said.

March 5
• At 8:25 p.m., David Garcia, 32, a resident of New Jersey, was arrested for being drunk in public.

March 6
• A visitor to the Island reported personal items had been stolen from her family.

March 7
• At 8:15 a.m., Joel Roberts, 52, an Avalon resident, was arrested and charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• At 11:48 p.m., 21 young adults were cited for possessing open containers of alcohol at the section of Wrigley Terrace Road known as Three Palms.  Deputies have increased their enforcement efforts in this area in response to numerous citizens’ complaints.

March 8
• At 1:35 a.m., Deanna Gardiner, 37, a resident of Brea, was arrested for being drunk in public.
• At 6:15 p.m., Casey McLaughlin, 23, a resident of Redondo Beach and Jacque Loewy, 24, a resident of Santa Monica, were arrested for being drunk in public.

March 9
• No significant incidents.

March 10
• An 18 year old Avalon resident was cited on Tremont Avenue for possession of Marijuana.

March 11
• No significant incidents.
