The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for Aug. 27 to Aug. 30.

August 27
• Due to the storm surge, deputies increased patrols along Crescent Avenue and Pebbly Road to provide security to the area and offer assistance to the public as needed.
• An Avalon resident reported jewelry was stolen from her residence on Pebbly Beach Road.
August 28
• Deputies participated in a multi-agency emergency preparedness drill at the hospital involving an active-shooter.
• At 11:40 p.m., Lorenzo Gonzalez, M/40, a resident of Avalon, was arrested for driving a golf cart while under the influence of alcohol.
• At 11:50 p.m., Julie Meadows, F/44, a resident of Oakhurst, was arrested for driving a golf cart while under the influence of alcohol.
August 29
• A citizen turned in an older model .22 caliber pistol that he found on the rocks by Descanso Canyon Road.
The gun was heavily corroded and obviously washed ashore by the storm surge.
Note: One golf cart was reported stolen from the 100 block of Metropole Avenue. It was found by the owner, two hours later, two stalls away from where it was believed to have been taken.
