Game one Thursday night between Buoys & Gulls and Leave it to Leo Handyman was as close as a game could get. Buoys & Gulls got on the board first with a run in the second inning. Nestor Cubillas hit a double for Leave it to Leo Handyman in the bottom of the inning, but was left at second base.
Buoys & Gulls got busy in the fourth inning. A walk, six base hits and two sacrifice fly balls brought home four. Leave it to Leo Handyman answered with two runs off a base hit and doubles from Robert Reyes and Nestor Cubillas.
Weston Leonhardi hit a two-run home run for Buoys & Gulls in the fifth. Leave it to Leo Handyman kept pace with two runs in the bottom of the inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning Leave it to Leo Handyman tied the game Three runs crossed the plate off four base hits.
In the top of the seventh Buoys & Gulls left two runners on base. In the bottom of the inning Leave it to Leo Handyman had the opportunity to win the game, but they also left two runners stranded. Matilda Martinez was busy behind the plate for Leave it to Leo Handyman with a catch behind the plate for an out, and a throw to first to pick off the runner. The game ended with a tie, 7-7.
For Buoys & Gulls Weston Leonhardi, Hugh Bevins and Rachel Mc Cormick collected two hits. Chuy Sillas, Juan De La Cruz, Justin Hernandez, Joey Yakubec and Kayla Faerheller contributed one hit.
For Leave it to Leo Handyman Phil Lopez was three for three. Robert Reyes, Nestor Cubillas and Matilda Martinez contributed two hits. Marco Gallegos, Leo Aguilar, Luis Lazaro and Aimee Casillas had one hit.
Game two was between Sunset Bar & Grill and Straight Up Builders. Sunset Bar & Grill used two base hits, three errors and a double from Ryan Adkins to bring home three. In the bottom of the inning Jack Villagomez made a snow cone catch in left center to deny Alexa Morones of an extra base hit.
Sunset Bar & Grills Jack Villagomez hit an RBI double, followed by a ground rule double for Jose Octavo. One run scored. Straight Up Builders got on the board in the bottom of the inning with a run, off two base hits and a sacrifice fly ball.
Sunset Bar & Grill kept the pressure on in the third inning. They had three base hits and doubles from Julian Tejeda, Jose Merino and Francisco Bravo to score four. Sunset Bar & Grill added another run in the fourth when Jose Octavo hit a triple and later scored.
Straight Up Builders got two in the bottom of the inning off two base hits and doubles from Gilbert Hernandez and Brandon Franco. Ben Guzman hit a double for Sunset Bar & Grill in the sixth, but was left at third. In the bottom of the seventh Straight Up Builders had a rally with two base hits and a home run from Brandon Franco to score three. The game ended with the score Straight Up Builders 6, Sunset Bar & Grill 9.
For Straight Up Builders Sebastian Sanchez was three for three. Dillon Gleber and Brandon Franco collected two hits. Gilbert Hernandez, Briana Morones and Brittany Randall contributed one hit.
For Sunset Bar & Grill Francisco Bravo and Ben Guzman were three for three. Jose Octavo, Julian Tejeda, Ryan Adkins, Jack Villagomez and Maddie Hiniker all collected two hits. Jose Merino had one hit.
