An Angel In Our Life: A poem for Rosie Cadman

File art

Rosie, Rosie

If it’s ok with you, I’d like to get a little bit cozy

And let you know how much we all love you and that you have been an angel in our life

And we hope and pray that from Heaven you can help us all get through our future strife

You were such an inspiration for us while on Planet Earth

I can’t imagine the powers you now possess knowing that you have gone through a spiritual rebirth

For so many years you have been a local icon

Someone who we all looked up to; The Queen Of Avalon

A true gem that we all got to share

A real treasure with

all of us under your care

So what do we do now that you’re no longer here?

You would say, “Believe in the power of the Spirit and have no fear”

For Rosie Cadman will always be with us

And I know you would say, don’t let my passing cause such a big fuss

But how could it not?

We love you so much and we’re gonna miss you a lot

You built such a beautiful family and gave it so much love and attention

You were always at the center, doing your magic, and relieving the tension

I’m sure your Grandchildren will carry on the Cadman legacy and follow the model you have set

There’s no doubt in my mind, that they’re going to be talking about Grandma Rosie for years to come, you can bet

When you weren’t able to make it to the Tree Service for my brother Tom, at the beautiful Coral Tree that you and Earl bought and had dedicated to our Dear Father

I immediately realized that dead or alive you were there and noone should be be bothered

Although your passing makes us all so very sad

I believe our faith will come through and make us realize that you’re now in Heaven with Earl and Johnny and having fun again with my Mom and Dad

Back in the day we always wanted to be on the Fish Market Summer League Basketball Team

Because we knew that win or lose, at the end of the season, you were going to feed us like Kings, or so it seemed

Fresh Swordfish, rice pilaf, and tartar sauce to kill

That was how we rolled with the Fish Market, because Rosie, you had the skill

You loved to work and cook for others

In fact one time you told me you wish you had never retired, if you’d had your druthers

A long time ago you inspired me to become a teacher

And when it all worked out so well, I realized, you were a true Preacher

You were an Angel doing the Lord’s work

Taking care of so many, especially Roger, who sometimes could be a jerk

But you knew how to handle your children better than most

And if Roger was really was all that bad, you would have sent him off to the other coast

You had a special place in your heart for a man named Earl

He was the love of your life, no doubt, he was your Precious Pearl

You must be so happy now, reunited with the man of your life

Earl and Rosie together again, Husband and Wife

Your heart was so big you were able to care for our whole town and all of its people

You modeled for us, all that is good, and made us all believers in the steeple

We loved seeing you on the streets of our quaint little town

Walking with your groceries, side by side with a family member, or alone, smiling at the people all the way, you were the most beautiful lady around

To say that we can get over your passing is easier said than done

But I know that today you want you want us all to celebrate your life and have nothing but fun

You made our world such a better place

And you did it all with so much beauty and grace

You protected us like all good mothers do and you became our special dove

You flew around our little town and spread to us all of your love

So now it’s time for you to fly away and meet up with your Creator

Just don’t forget about us down here, because we’d rather feel your Spirit, sooner than later
