Sheriff’s Log: March 21 to March 27, 2018

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of March 21 to March 27, 2018.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

March 21

• Deputies responded to the 340 block of Sumner Avenue regarding a suspicious person sleeping in a shed. Deputies contacted the suspicious person and discovered he knew the residents and no crimes were violated.

March 22

• A motorist backed a pickup truck into the Avalon Sheriff’s Station gate at 215 Sumner Avenue. There was no damage or injuries.

March 23

• Deputies responded to a loud music call in the 360 block of Clarissa Avenue. Deputies contacted the disturbing party who cooperated and turned down the music.

March 24

• Deputies responded to a disturbance call in the125 block of Metropole Avenue. The two adults were just being loud. No crimes were violated.

March 25

• Deputies arrested Rosa Valenzuela of Avalon on Casino Way on suspicion of allegedly possessing methamphetamine, a narcotic smoking pipe and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

March 26

• Deputies responded to a burglary alarm call in the 217 block of Metropole Avenue.

Deputies determined that the alarm was accidentally activated by an employee. There were no crimes violated.

March 27

• Deputies arrested Osbaldo Hernandez of Avalon in the 131 block of Metropole Avenue on suspicion of allegedly possessing methamphetamine and a narcotic smoking pipe.

How to stop Domestic Violence.

If you are involved in an argument with your partner (wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend ect.) do not use violence or you will be arrested. De-escalate the situation by leaving the scene until things calm down.
