Sheriff’s Log: March 14 to March 20, 2018

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of March 14 to March 20, 2018.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

March 14

• Deputies arrested Jose Pedroza of Avalon on suspicion of assault in the 119 block of Olive Street.

March 15

• Deputies arrested Yesenia Ramirez of Avalon on suspicion of assault in the 131block of Metropole Avenue.

March 16

• Deputies responded to the 200 block of Metropole Avenue regarding a male and female arguing. The two were separated. There were no crimes committed.

March 17

• Deputies responded to Middle Terrace Road regarding an overturned golf cart. There were minor injuries.

March 18

• Deputies arrested Yafet Mengesha of Avalon on suspicion of possession of cocaine in the Pleasure Pier restroom.

March 19

• Deputies arrested Charlie Carrasco from Avalon for being under the influence of a controlled substance in the 150 block of Metropole Avenue.

March 20

• No significant incidents.

Drive slowly and watch for pedestrians when driving near Vons market on Metropole Avenue.
