Lancer boys volleyball going strong

The Avalon Lancers Boys volleyball team is off to an amazing start this season with 10 wins and one loss. The Lancers are currently eighth in the CIF Southern Section polls and hope to move on up in the rankings as their schedule becomes harder this season.

The Lancers are currently in first place in the San Joaquin League and hope to make a deep playoff run. Avalon has beaten some great opponents this year like Ocean View High School and Orangewood Academy.

The Lancers are led by senior Alberto Rodriguez averaging five kills per game and totaling 144 kills this season.

Alex Herrera has over 300 digs and 362 serve receives to lead the league and also he leads the team in aces with 45.

The Alcala brothers Chris and Jairo have 389 assists this season. Harrison Hobbs and Saul De La Rosa are averaging two blocks per game in the middle.
