The Avalon High School girls volleyball team has been on a six game winning streak.
The team beat Sheperd’s Grove Tuesday, Oct. 29, in two matches with the first match scores being 25-16, 25-9, 25-13. The team was led by Senior Vanessa Sanchez with 13 kills, 11 digs, 5 aces, and 11 serve receives. Also leading the way was Freshman Setter Selina Morones with 36 assists, 13 aces, and 3 kills.

The second match the lady Lancers also went 3-0 with the scores 25-14, 25-9, 25-14. They were led by senior Vanessa Sanchez with 9 kills, 4 aces, 10 digs, and 8 serve receives. Also helping was Senior Alicia Chavez with 7 kills, 8 aces and Freshman Selina Morones had a great game with 25 assists, 11 aces, and 4 kills. The team has been having an impressive season with a record of 10-3. The team is led by five starting seniors and one freshman.
Senior Vanessa Sanchez has 108 kills, 50 aces, 114 digs, 126 serve receives, .384 hitting pct., and a 52.4 killing pct. Senior Marisa Morones has 57 kills, 36 aces, 85 digs, 122 serve receives, and a 26.2 killing pct. Senior Alicia Chavez has 40 Kills, 54 aces. Senior Rachel McCormick 39 kills, 25 aces.
