Election results now official: Measure T fails; Marshall re-elected mayor

The results of Avalon’s municipal election are now official: the hospital tax proposal, Measure T, failed with only 168 votes in favor and 257 votes opposed. Mayor Anni Marshall, who ran as a write-in candidate, was re-elected. Marshall received 265 votes (57 percent) to the 175 (37 percent) cast for former mayor Bob Kennedy.

Cinde MacGugan Cassidy was re-elected to the council with 237 votes. Pam Albers, a past Avalon city attorney, was returned to City Hall as a council member by 187 voters.
